Samson collects world awards – five medals from London
Last year, the Samson Brewery brought back a silver medal from London for its BOCK special in the category of the best “Bock” lager. The year before, there were two gold medals, one for the best non-alcoholic beer of the Czech Republic and the other for the best dark lager, one global title of World’s Best Lager Bock for Samson BOCK and a bronze medal for a light Czech-style lager brewed in the Czech Republic. In 2018, it was a gold medal for Samson lager for the best Czech-style lager and a silver medal for Pito for the best non-alcoholic beer in the Czech Republic. “Such a success is unparalleled in the modern history of our brewery. Five awards from such a recognized global competition made us extremely happy. At the same time, we feel a great responsibility in our further work to maintain high quality and continue to improve,” says Daniel Dřevikovský, CEO of the Samson Brewery. "Consumer interests are always our top priority and we will continue to make every effort to deliver the best beers," he adds. The brewery continues to improve its facilities: the barrel line will be renovated by the end of the year, and the brewery shop also underwent a complete renovation this year, where, in addition to the full range of kegs, there is also freshly bottled unpasteurized lager.
Hopped lager – a unique taste appreciated worldwide
“I am most pleased to receive the award for Nachmelený lager. It is a beer with a truly unique taste. It has a distinct hop aroma, but it is also very drinkable and leaves a delicious impression after drinking. Balancing such harmony requires real experience. And our team passed the test at the international competition,” says Radim Lavička, brewer of Pivovar Samson. The new Nachmelený lager was launched on the market last year.
Pivovar Samson, a.s. belongs to AB InBev, which is the world's largest beer producer. Other brands of this group include Stella Artois, Corona, Leffe and Beck's. Samson is the oldest brewery in České Budějovice, which it proudly emphasizes on its new labels. The consistently high quality of Pivovar Samson's production is proven by numerous awards from prestigious tasting competitions. Samson has repeatedly won top spots in its categories not only in London at the World Beer Awards, but has also brought home awards from Australia (Australian International Beer Awards), Belgium (Brussels Beer Challenge) and the Beer of the Czech Republic competition, or from tastings by Czech beer experts as part of the First Beer Extra League.
